❥ Be respectful and courteous to one another. This is a game created among friends, for friends, so please be respectful, courteous, and communicative. Keep the drama IC!
❥ If you need to discuss something with the mods, please use the mod questions channel or the ticket tool in the server. Please do not DM the mods directly, and allow the mods some time to discuss and respond. This holds true for lighter questions, like mid-trial kills, and more serious discussions.
❥ IC ≠ OOC. We encourage all types of characters and dynamics, including negative CR. If you're not feeling too sure about something, contact the other player. If necessary, you can also come to us for another perspective.
❥ Make sure everyone involved is on the same page when it comes to plotting. Whether it's murder, mid-trial kills, IC drama, or shipping shenanigans, please take an extra second to clear all aspects of your plans with the other people involved. It's possible everyone may have very different presumptions about how something may go down, and a quick conversation can clear those up.
❥ Be aware that this is a scapegoat style game. It is reasonably likely that your character might die, or get scaped. The mod team will do our best to keep cases and trials fair, but we're not perfect. We ask that you respect case and trial outcomes; failing to solve a case is not a bad outcome or a reflection on the players or the game.
❥ Use content warnings. Remember: many players utilize flatview to keep up with IC goings-on on most posts. While murder is the name of the game, other sensitive topics such as abuse, suicide, self-harm, incest, and so on should be warned for and treated appropriately. Likewise, though this game assigns the roles of teacher and student to characters only in name, please take care to warn for romantic or sexual teacher-student content in threads.
❥ Keep it secret, keep it safe. We've all been there— we're so excited about something that we can't wait to spring the surprise. Nevertheless, an element of secrecy is important to keeping things suspenseful for everyone else and we ask that players show discretion when revealing information about cases and the "afterlife". If you aren't sure if you can reveal something or not, don't hesitate to contact us to ask!
❥ Stay active! While there won't be traditional AC in this game, we will be looking to make sure everyone is involved in the game in some form. If you're having difficulty getting involved, or something pops up where you need to bow out, please contact us! Life happens, we're here to help make things work for everyone. Activity will be especially important for the partnered activities in this game.

I. ❝Thy Father is thy Father, King, and Lord, and—as those subservient with a covenant, or engagement, to Him—thou shalt not disobey Him.❞ Mmm... According to Father, in all instances, you're meant to do and think what Father would want you to, and display your love for Him in your hearts in how you act. I think this rule is rather unnecessary, personally, but it is one he presses first and foremost, so, really... do what you will with it.
II. ❝Thou shalt address the Dramaturge as no greater than His messenger, and shall go to the Dramaturge for administration.❞ He wouldn't want you mistaking me for someone with the final say here, but He rather likes me keeping up with His busywork. Consider me your point of contact; someone who is as much prisoner here as all of you; and, who shares your same goal: escape.
III. ❝Every seven days, on the fifth day, thou shalt kill. Only he who escapes undetected shall be granted Beautitude.❞ At least one person must. And by "the fifth day," He refers to Thursday. In any case, while all of you are undertaking trials to prove that you oughtn't be punished for being "sinful"—simply for having desires, if you would recall—at least one person must prove themselves worthy of having desire, and thus have it granted. Father's native language is blood, as it were.
IV. ❝Thou shalt follow the convention of investigation, trial, and execution, in no altered order, and at the rapacity of no more than investigation and trial held on one day, and execution held on another.❞ Straightforward enough.
V. ❝Thou shalt abide by the épreuve given to you every second day. To refuse is to annul your engagement with Me.❞ The second day being "Monday," and the épreuve being the more Biblical trials He would like to see you face. These are the ones that involve getting to know one another . . . in a fashion.
VI. ❝And one from myself: the Dramaturge may append the rules to ensure a smooth production.❞ Should I need to do so, you will see that I announce it.
WEEK TWO ADDITIONS
VII. ❝You may not vote for yourself.❞ It's effectively opting out of the activity. You may certainly rally people to vote for you, however.
VIII.❝You may not confess your crime early in the Trial.❞ The timing of Gabimaru's confession were perfectly acceptable, but I'd not want anyone to take liberties.
